FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you might want to know about how Alongo works.

Is Alongo a dating app or an escort service?

No — and it isn't a dating service either. Alongo is strictly for platonic companionship: booking a verified person's time and company for real-world plans like dinner, an event, travel, or being shown around a city. Bookings pay only for someone's time and company. Anything sexual, intimate, or physical — soliciting it, offering it, or arranging it — is absolutely prohibited, grounds for a permanent ban, and where relevant reported to the authorities. See our Community Guidelines.

Is Alongo legal?

Yes. Alongo is a platform for lawful, platonic companionship — social time in public settings. We strictly prohibit and actively remove any sexual, escort, or unlawful activity, verify every companion's identity, and cooperate with authorities. Meetings are meant for public places like cafés, restaurants, and venues.

How do you verify companions?

Every companion submits a government ID and PAN and completes a live face check that's matched to their ID. All photos are automatically screened for unsafe content, and our team reviews each profile. No one can appear or take bookings until they're fully verified. More on our safety page.

How much does it cost?

Companions set their own hourly rates, so pricing varies by person, city, and activity — you always see the rate before you book. Alongo adds a flat 15% platform fee; there are no hidden charges.

How do payments work?

Online you pay only our platform booking fee to confirm — that's all Alongo processes. The companion's own rate is paid directly to them when you meet, in person; we don't hold or handle that amount. You'll always see both before you book, and support can help if a booking doesn't go to plan.

Do I have to share my phone number?

No. You chat inside the app over private, encrypted messaging, so you can arrange everything without handing over personal contact details.

What can I book a companion for?

Dinners, coffee, events and nights out, travel, city tours, brunch, outdoor plans — anything where good company makes it better. You and the companion agree the plan before you book.

Where is it available?

Alongo is launching city by city. Open the app to see verified companions available near you — or preview who's on the platform.

How old do I have to be?

Alongo is strictly for adults 18 and over, on both sides of every booking.

How do I become a companion, and how do I get paid?

Apply in the app, get verified, then set your rates, activities, and availability. You keep 100% of your rate — clients pay you directly, in person, and we never take a cut. See become a companion.

What if something goes wrong?

You can report or block anyone in a tap, and reach human support before, during, or after a booking. Our moderation team reviews reports and can suspend accounts quickly.
