Safety & Booking Policy
Version 2026-08-13 · Effective 13 August 2026
Alongo arranges real-world meetings between independent adults, so safety comes first. This policy sets out how to book and meet safely, the boundaries that apply to every Booking, and how to get help. It forms part of our Terms of Service and works alongside our Community Guidelines. It doesn’t replace your own judgment.
1. Before a booking
- Keep the conversation and plans in the app, where they’re protected and reportable.
- Companions are identity-verified (a government ID and a matching selfie were checked). This is not a background check and not a guarantee of safety — use your judgment.
- Agree the activity, time and a public location before you confirm.
- Don’t share sensitive personal details (home address, financial details, documents) with another user.
2. During a booking
- Meet and stay in public places — cafés, restaurants, malls, parks, ticketed venues.
- Tell a friend or family member where you’ll be and when you expect to be back.
- Keep to the agreed activity, time and location. Changing the plan — especially to a private location — needs the other person’s clear, freely-given consent, and you can always say no.
- Stay in control of your own belongings, drinks, phone and money.
- Consent and boundaries apply at all times. “No” means no; either person may end the meeting at any point.
3. Private property, vehicles & residences
A Booking is for shared, public company. It does not give either person the right to enter the other’s home, hotel room, vehicle, workplace, or any private property, and no one should pressure anyone to go somewhere private. Never reveal or ask for a Companion’s home address; Companions appear on the map only at an approximate area.
4. Transportation
- Each person arranges and is responsible for their own transport.
- No one may require or pressure another to travel in a particular vehicle or with them.
- Alongo does not provide or arrange transportation as part of a Booking unless a lawful transport arrangement is expressly part of the activity.
5. Events, venues & third parties
For activities at venues or events, follow the rules of the venue, organiser, hotel or transport operator.Alongo doesn’t control and doesn’t guarantee admission, tickets, availability, weather, or other third-party services unless expressly stated.
6. Money & scams
Never send money, loans, gifts or “help” to another user, and never share OTPs, card details or banking credentials. Anyone who asks — especially after building a friendly or emotional connection — is breaking our rules. Report them and don’t pay. See financial-exploitation and romance-scam rules in the Community Guidelines.
7. Looking out for vulnerable users
Alongo welcomes older adults and others who value company. Treat everyone with patience and respect. Exploiting anyone’s loneliness, trust, health or finances is a serious violation and may be reported to the authorities.
8. After a booking
- Leave an honest review — it helps keep the community safe.
- Report anything that felt unsafe or broke the rules, and Block anyone you don’t want to hear from again.
- Raise any payment or service problem through refunds & disputes.
9. Reporting, blocking & getting help
You can Report or Block from any profile, chat or booking. We review reports, can act on encrypted chats only when you report them, and take enforcement action under our Community Guidelines. For anything else, contact Support or our Grievance Officer, Grievance Officer, Companion (PLACEHOLDER — named individual), at grievance@companion.app. We acknowledge within 24 hours and aim to resolve within 15 days. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.
10. Changes & contact
We may update this policy as Alongo evolves; the version and effective date above will change. Alongo Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (PLACEHOLDER), Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (PLACEHOLDER — registered office). Support: support@companion.app · Grievance: grievance@companion.app.
